Yes, Topbuxus products can be used on all types of hedges, particulary ones that are box like. Euonymous, Japanese yew, Illex etc. They're beneficial to a wide variety of plants such as Pittosporum, Japanese box, Viburnum, and Lilly Pilly. Use a combination of anaerobic microbes, and mychorrizal funghi (trichoderma) along with Topbuxus Health-Mix every 4 weeks. Once the disease improves, apply Topbuxus Grow every 6–8 weeks. Continue until noticeable plant recovery.

Browning can result from stress, disease, poor nutrition, or watering issues. Prune dead areas, ensure soil is healthy, and alternate between Grow (every 6–8 weeks) and Health-Mix (every 4 weeks). Make sure you contact a local horticulturalist if you are unable to correctly identify the cause.

Stress usually is caused by either, too frequent, infrequent and irregular watering, lack of the right nutrients, soil quality and sunlight issues. Older hedges that are sizable will naturally need more nutrients to thrive. Often the plants have taken all of the available nutrients from the soil and require adding more nutrients to begin recovering. In the instance of potted Buxus, they may have simply out grown the pot and require replacing into a pot size that fits the size of the root system and plant.

Most Buxus benefit from feeding in early spring and again in late summer. In warmer climates, feeding can continue later into the year. The best sign to fertilise is at the sign of new buds which follows a 6-8 week cycle from the beginning of Spring.

It’s best to prune first, then apply fertiliser to support recovery and stimulate fresh growth. This is because plants require energy from nutrients to recover. The more you prune, the more energy the plant will need to regrow what has been clipped.

Health-Mix may show results within 72 hours. Full recovery and improved appearance typically develop over 2 to 4 weeks.

Avoid using during extreme heat (above 32°C) or frosty conditions. Milder mornings or evenings are ideal for application.

Topbuxus products can help against perst prevention through developing better and stronger quality growth. It reduces the likelihood of stress related pests from lack of nutrition, and will also boost the recovery. Yes, the nutrients support plants even in poor or compacted soil, especially when paired with improved watering and aeration.

Regular pruning is the key to managing the height of your hedges. Consistent clipping should keep them closer to the height that you require. However, as hedges grow, they will naturally increase in size and may require hard cut backs or renovations, to keep them at your desired height. If you are doing a hard cut back or renovating ensure you apply Topbuxus Health-mix and Grow to ensure that all plant wounds are innoculated and that enough nutrients are supplied to boost energy stores for a faster recovery.

Yes. As Grow is a fast release fertiliser it is designed to break down rapidly in the presence of moisture. Environmental factors like heat and humidity may break them down, but they remain effective. Use the same quantities.

It is also best not to prune too late into Autumn as you want the leaves to mature and harden off so they are less susceptible to damage. In high frost/snow ares, it can be benficial to cover with burlap or hessian sheets to prevent branches breaking from snow build up.

Our products don't have a total shelf life. However Topbuxus Health-mix tablets may break down and lose form after 3 years.
